Rocket Raccoon has kicked it up a notch and has a lot more in store for you as you’re send on a mission to save the Guardians of the Galaxy.

What are Other Disneyland Scary Rides? – Dark Rides

mr-toad

While most people assume that the scariest rides at Disneyland are all thrill rides, there are actually some rides with no height requirement that are on our list. If you or your little ones are scared by dark spaces, spooky scenes or chaos, this list of dark rides might not be for you.

Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride

Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride is one of the opening day attractions at Disneyland and takes you on a manic drive in an out of control motorcar. This whole ride is rather dark with some bizarre scenes, especially if you’re not familiar with the 1949 film it is based on. The attraction is older, jerky, and includes scenes that are literally in hell, with devils, demons, dragons and more spooky stuff.

We would not recommend bringing children under the age of 7 on this attraction, as it might truly terrify them.

Pinnochio’s Daring Journey

We don’t understand how this ride hasn’t made more of Disneyland’s scariest rides list, as even as adults, this ride is spooky. The dark parts of the ride are extremely dark, with terrifying artwork and animatronics. Most of the ride covers all of Pinnochio’s mishaps, which end up coming off as strange and definitely creepy.

If puppet-mater Stromboli wasn’t scary enough, Monstro making his appearance right after doesn’t make it any better. Being swallowed by a whale might be too scary for little ones, so be cautious when riding.

Haunted Mansion

Any attraction where you have to ride a Doom Buggy will definitely make the list of the scariest rides at Disneyland. While this ride is extremely lighthearted for the material at hand, it is still in a spooky haunted mansion with ghosts, ghouls, skeletons, etc. Even the pre-show in the Stretching Room can be rather intense for little ones or those who are afraid of dark spaces.

There aren’t any jump scares, and the ride moves VERY slowly to get the full tour of the house and grounds. Even though the Imagineering is extremely witty, we recommending holding off on this one until your kids hit around 5. Especially if you visit during the fall, and can stop by for the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay, which is incredible!
