Universal Orlando Resort has a strict list of what is allowed into the theme parks and what isn’t. Knowing in advance the things to bring to Universal Studios that are prohibited will save you a lot of time at security. If you’re planning on using Early Park Admission, you could potentially be stalled and miss your entry time if your bag has to be searched. So, here is a list of all prohibited items to bring into the Universal parks:

When making your Universal Studios packing list, do not leave off a backpack! Any ride that is too intense to bring a bag onto the ride will have free lockers that guests have to use. These lockers are extremely easy to use, and actually required for certain rides throughout the park.

Universal Orlando free ride lockers keep your items safe, and can only be unlocked by using the park ticket scanned to obtain the locker. There are time limits your items can be left in the locker, so make sure not to leave your items behind for too long.

So, what should I wear to Universal Studios? As a general rule of thumb we recommend to always wear lightweight clothing such as shorts, tee shirts, comfortable shoes, sunglasses, and a hat. The only exception to this rule would be if visiting Universal Orlando during December, January or February as the weather can be unpredictable. However even in this case we would still recommend to dress light as it is always easier to add layers later on.

The summer time is HOT in Orlando, and we always recommend for going for comfort over anything else. Absolutely do not let that stop you wearing what you want to the parks, but we are going to suggest the best Universal Studios outfits for summer time!

  • Lightweight breathable shorts/pants (Athletic shorts/pants, leggings) – Even if you want to wear dresses or skirts, we suggest wearing a pair of shorts underneath!
  • Lightweight tops – T-Shirts, Tanks, etc.
  • Comfortable shoes – Crocs, tennis shoes, supportive sandals – You are going to be doing a lot of walking!

What to Wear to Universal in the Winter

The wintertime in Florida can always be a toss-up on how the day is going to end up, so your best outfit for Universal Studios in the winter is going to be a bit different that the summer. Some mornings start out at 40 degrees and end at 80, so it is important to be prepared so you’re comfortable.
