What is in Dreamworks Land?
Ready for new Universal attractions? This summer, Dreamworks Land opened and features 3 main themes from the films Shrek, Trolls, and Kung Fu Panda. Located in Universal Studios Florida, Dreamworks Land replaced the now-closed Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone located next to the E.T. Adventure Attraction.
The official opening date for the land is June 14, 2024, just over 1 year since the closure of the former KidZone Area. This land is the perfect addition to Universal Studios Florida bringing kid/family-friendly elements back into the park.
Dreamworks Land features:
- Shrek’s Swamp – Meet Shrek in his house, make music in King Harold’s Swamp Symphony or enjoy swamp themed treats
- Trolls Land – Meet Trolls characters, ride the Trollercoaster or play in Poppy’s Playground
- Panda Village – Meet Po or splash around in his interactive Kung Fu training wet and dry play area

Shrek in Dreamworks Land
Shrek’s Swamp Meet: Step into Shrek’s Swamp! Here, guests can visit Shrek, Princess Fiona and Donkey. In January 2023, the beloved Donkey meet and greet closed its doors. Shrek fans (us included) are very happy to see Donkey return to Universal Studios Florida. This is an interactive meet and greet where Donkey will joke around with you!
Shrek’s Swamp for Little Ogres: This play area features four fun slides, wet play areas, and a playground where kids can also venture into Shrek’s outhouse. Note: you MUST go down the “fart slide.” This green slide out of Shrek’s outhouse makes fart sounds as you slide down.
Mama Luna Feline Fiesta: Puss in Boots: The Last Wish comes to life with this new interactive experience that takes place in Mama Luna’s retirement home for cats. Guests get to play with Mama Luna’s many cats on interactive screens activated by buttons, bells, maracas, and levers. They might even spot the one and only Puss in Boots himself.
King Harold’s Swamp Symphony: Create your masterpiece as you conduct frog ribbits by stomping around on lily pads that make music!
Swamp Snacks: Is it really a theme park land without snacks? Feast like an ogre at this new kiosk, which will serve snacks inspired by Shrek, including Shrekzel, Far Far A Waffle, Frozen Ogre, and more. We may or may not have to rope drop this snack stand.

Party with Trolls in Dreamworks Land
Good times and good vibes with the trolls! In Dreamworks Land, you will be able to find your happy place with favorite Trolls characters like Poppy and Branch.
Trolls Trollercoaster: Hop aboard the Caterbus and escape on this family-friendly rollercoaster. Guests of all ages will be able to enjoy this coaster. This kiddie coaster was formerly “Woody Woodpeckers Nuthouse Coaster” in the old KidZone. It will now be rethemed to Trolls! Universal also added on-ride photos to this attraction.
- “Trollercoaster” has a height requirement of 36″ and children under 48 in (122 cm) must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
Poppy’s Playground: Let the kids run wild in this shaded (under a 20-ft mushroom) play area with colorful structures.
Trolls Treats: Cool down with a refreshing Trolls-themed ice cream treat from Poppy’s Boombox kiosk! Grab ice-pops inspired by Poppy and Branch like the pink lemonade-flavored Poppy-licious Pink and huckleberry-flavored BroZone Berry. Note: We loved the Poppy-licious ice cream. Be sure to ask for a cup on the side as it will melt fast in the Florida heat.

Fun with Po from King Fu Panda
Po’s Kung Fu Training Camp: a wet-and-dry play zone inspired by the Panda Village. Help Po wash laundry with giant water cannons and explore fun features like an interactive gong, giggling baby pandas, and oversized noodle bowl merry-go-rounds.
Po Live!: Join Po in this digital, interactive meet and greet experience that gives guests the opportunity to interact with the famous Dragon Warrior himself as he teaches them cool Kung Fu moves, cooks some delicious stir fry, and babysits his little cousin, Ling Ling…all at the same time.
