We, my friends, have dragons! If you haven’t already heard the huge news, Universal Orlando is opening a brand new theme park in 2025 – Epic Universe. They have just announced more details on the immersive new world of “How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk” which will be one of five worlds to discover in Epic Universe. How to Train Your Dragon Land Epic Universe
When you step through the portal, you will be transported to the “Isle of Berk” from DreamWorks Animation’s “How to Train Your Dragon” trilogy. Dragons soar overhead and Viking culture is celebrated in a land where the two live in harmony. You will be fully immersed in the world of dragons and this land will feature 30 animated and static dragons, representing 17 unique dragon species throughout the world.
As you enter through the portal into Berk, you will see two 40-foot-tall Viking statues in a beautiful lagoon, just like in the films. You will see hand-carved details, lush landscaping, and rolling hills surrounding vibrant dragon houses. This land will sit on 15.5 acres, which means tons of room for dragon-sized adventures.
Get ready to enjoy a roller coaster ride through the Isle of Berk, a spectacular live stage show, a thrilling dragon racing trainer attraction, flying dragons, and more. This land will feature 4 attractions, 1 stage show, character meet and greets, 3 dining options, and shopping experiences. Hiccup’s Wing Gliders – Get ready to fly on this family How to Train Your Dragon roller coaster! Hiccup has invented a winged flying machine that helps launch aspiring dragon riders into the sky. Get a dragon’s eye view of Berk as this coaster takes you around the land. Initially, this reminds us of Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, which is VERY exciting because that is our absolute favorite ride!
Speed: 45 mph.
Height: Minimum Height 40” (102 cm)
Fyre Drill – Mischievous Viking twins Ruffnut and Tuffnut invite teams of Vikings to compete to outscore and out-soak each other on this boat battle. Guests will board a colorful dragon-headed boat and blast water cannons at flame-like targets to practice putting out fires. Get your ponchos ready, this will be a wet one!

Dragon Racer’s Rally – Practice aerobatic maneuvers and high-speed barrel rolls on two Viking-made dragon-riding trainers that reach heights of up to 67 feet in the air. On this flat ride, guests can control how “wild” or “mild” their experience will be.

The Untrainable Dragon – Our first confirmed live show of Epic Universe! This show takes guests on an unforgettable journey with beloved characters Hiccup, Toothless, Gobber, and Astrid as they work together to solve the mystery of The Untrainable Dragon. We are excited to see Toothless soar above the audience, weighing in at 1,157 pounds, with a wingspan of nearly 27 feet!
Viking Training Camp – Calling all Vikings in training! Junior Vikings will learn everything they need to know about dragons as they climb, slide, and explore their way through this interactive play area.
Meet Hiccup and Toothless – Probably one of the experiences we are most excited about is getting to meet Hiccup and Toothless! Guests can visit the “Haddock Paddock” for a meet-and-greet experience with Hiccup and Toothless. Plus, throughout the day, guests may also encounter other familiar Vikings (Astrid and Stormfly) and dragons while exploring Berk.

Spit Fyre Grill — This quick service location will overlook the lagoon of the Fyre Drill attraction. Spit Fyre Guests can enjoy hearty flame-seared meals.
Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel — Guests can grab quick bites at this festive racing-themed food stand located in the Viking Camp.
