Our Favorite Food at Festival at the Arts in Epcot

Festival of the Arts is our favorite Epcot festival, and as self-proclaimed foodies, the food is the biggest draw. We’ve spent years as Annual Passholders going to FOTA (Festival of the Arts), and found that while the menus were smaller in 2024, the quality was by far the best. That’s why I am writing this guide to tell you what to get when you visit the Festival of the Arts next!

The Best Food at Festival of the Arts

We’ve been sampling food at Festival of the Arts since it started in 2017 and have fallen in love with the colorful menus and creative treats! The menus have remained relatively the same over the last three years, which makes it easy to tell you what our favorite is because it will most likely be on the menu next year too. So, without wasting more time, here is my favorite food at the Festival of the Arts so far:

The Best at the Fest:

  • Deconstructed Key Lime Pie: Flexible Key Lime Curd, “Key Lime” Mousse, Graham Cracker Cake, and Meringues – This item was fun, beautiful and tasty! We love how colorful and creative it is.
  • Rainbow Cake with freeze dried SKITTLES bite sized candies – This dish has improved over the years and has become a delicious tender cake with a lot of flavor
  • Red Wine-braised Beef Short Rib with parsnip purée, broccolini, baby tomatoes, and balsamic glaze – Every year the short rib falls apart tender, and we feel that the chefs just keep making it better!
  • Neapolitan Dessert Trio: Chocolate tart, vanilla bean cheesecake, and strawberry mousse – All three desserts were tasty (with the strawberry mousse being the freshest and most delicious!) with a lot of color
  • Carne Asada: Chipotle-marinated beef sirloin, grilled queso fresco, Nopales salad with queso fresco foam and chicharron dust – Delicious, cooked perfectly and had incredible seasoning
  • Mozzarella Fritta: Flash-fried breaded fresh mozzarella with artist palette condiments – Really on brand for the festival. Hot, crispy and had delicious dipping sauces
  • Wild Mushroom Risotto with truffle shavings and zinfandel reduction – a perfect plant-based item that is delicious and creamy

What did we not like about Festival of the Arts food?

Smaller menus at the Festival of the Arts meant better quality food, but it meant a huge lack of vegetarian and vegan options. Theme Park Today is a mix of meat eaters and vegetarians and we felt that there was little for those plant-based palates to enjoy.

There were also a couple of dishes we would not recommend. Firstly, is the Gnocchi Poutine with red wine-braised beef, cheese curds, basil, and burrata. The gnocchi, which should be the star, was soggy from there being meat and cheese on top. The dish felt off and didn’t hit the marks. We also were not impressed with the soup in the grilled cheese. Both regular and meat grilled cheese sandwiches were delicious, but the soup was watery and not all that flavorful.

Honorable Mention – Figment Popcorn Buckets

If you start to learn anything about me, it is that I am a sucker for a collectible. The Figment popcorn buckets from 2023 and 2024 were both some of the best items purchased at FOTA. The creative teams that design the popcorn buckets have made them so fun, and the best double as a souvenir. Not to mention $3 refills during your trip too.

Cuisine Classique

  • Beef Wellington: Mushroom duxelles, prosciutto, and puff pastry with red wine demi-glace
  • Cast Iron-roasted P.E.I. mussels with sautéed tomatoes, garlic, and fresh herbs

Beverages:

  • Gulf Stream Brewing Company Sum of All Colors IPA 
  • Tesselaarsdal Pinot Noir

Figment’s Inspiration Station at the Odyssey: Art, Food, and Little Sparks of Magic

Food Items:

  • Blueberry-filled Pastry Tart with purple icing
