How to Meet the Grinch at Universal Studios – The Grinch Meet and Greet Guide
What better way to celebrate Grinchmas than with The Grinch himself? If you are wondering “how to meet the Grinch at Universal Studios?” You are in the right place. The Grinch Universal Studios is a highlight for all parkgoers. When you are visiting Islands of Adventure, you can simply walk up to Honk Honkers and have a fun interactive photo-op with him. Well, it may not be THAT simple. New for 2023, The Grinch meet and greet no longer has a virtual queue. In the opening days of Universal Holidays, we have seen the wait times get up to 180 minutes to meet Mr. Grinch!
This is a free (included in your ticket) way to meet The Grinch at Universal Orlando. The meet and greet is located at Honk Honkers at Islands of Adventure. Now you may be wondering how to meet The Grinch without waiting SO long. Our suggestion is to go right to Honk Honkers during Early Park Admission. The meet and greet starts at 9 AM however waiting during Early Park Admission may be the best way to meet The Grinch without waiting over 2 hours. Arrive as early as you can, we got to Honk Honkers at 8:20 AM, and by 10 AM we were doing Jazzercise with The Grinch.
Another way to meet The Grinch is arriving at the end of the night. This way, the last thing you do in the park could be meeting The Grinch. We tried this out and ended up waiting 75 minutes, which was great compared to 3 hours during the day!
It is a really fun experience chatting it up and taking photos with The Grinch. This Grinch meet and greet is perfect for families who don’t want to pay extra, we are so glad Universal has this free experience!

The Grinch & Friends Character Breakfast at Universal Islands of Adventure
Who doesn’t want to eat breakfast with The Grinch? Get ready for a blast at “The Grinch & Friends Character Breakfast.” Start your day with a yummy breakfast and hang out with the Grinch and other Whos as they visit Universal for the holidays.
This awesome breakfast bash happens at Confisco Grille in Universal Islands of Adventure on select dates from November 17 to December 27. In previous years, The Grinch Character Breakfast took place at Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous in years past. For 2024, the popular Universal breakfast with The Grinch will take place steps away at Confisco Grille.

What is the BEST way to meet The Grinch at Universal?
So now we know there are three different ways to experience the Grinch meet and greet. It is truly so difficult to choose favorites for me at Universal. I think all options to meet the Grinch are great. To recap:
- Standby Line (free!)
- The Grinch & Friends Character Breakfast ($58.99)
- Universal’s Holiday Tour ($79.99)
Of course, the free version being the standby line would always be my first choice. I do think the other options are great too. If I had to choose between the Character Breakfast and the Holiday Tour, I would do the Holiday Tour. At the base price, it is about $20 more for an adult to get a private meet and greet with the Grinch, Santa and so much more. Of course, prices will vary based on the date of your visit.
Be sure to book these experiences as soon as possible. The Holidays are a popular time to visit the parks so they will sell out quickly.
