What is the Very Merry Christmas Party 2023?
Mickey’s Christmas Party is a separately ticketed event, meaning you have to purchase a party-only ticket. This exclusive party offers an after-hours look in the park during the holiday season, featuring your favorite characters dressed in Christmas gear, Santa making his way down Main Street, unique and exclusive holiday treats and food, enchanting holiday entertainment, and holiday overlays on your favorite rides. Guests can also add additional magic such as firework dessert parites and get the opportunity to experience holiday photo opportunities with their photopass.
What to Do at Mickey’s Christmas Party?
Many rides will be open during the celebration, such as Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, It’s a Small World, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Jungle Cruise transforms into “JINGLE Cruise” as a fun twist for the holiday season (also operational during regular park hours). Space Mountain also has a holiday twist that guests can enjoy.
Tron Lightcycle / Run, the newest and most popular Disney World attraction is open during the party as well! This is a huge benefit for guests because Disney offers an opportunity to request to join the virtual queue at 6:00 PM for Guests attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Guests will need to use the My Disney Experience app to enter this attraction. A standby queue for this attraction will not be available during the event. It’s important to note that your Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party ticket must be linked to your My Disney Experience account in order to join the Tron virtual queue for the party.
Don’t forget to take advantage of eating all the themed food that will be provided, such as the Welcome Holiday Treat, eggnog, apple cider, and hot chocolate. Mickey’s Merry Christmas party in previous years seems to get crowded. However, Disney is debuting a brand new holiday party this year at Hollywood Studios called Jollywood Nights. This may alleviate the crowds in Magic Kingdom as families may choose one over the other.
In past years, kids, teens, young adults and grown-ups alike have loved attending the Walt Disney World Merry Christmas Party because they get to see their favorite characters after hours. Some of these characters only come out during this special holiday tradition, so many park-goers are excited to see rare characters.
One of the highlights of the party and what makes it so enjoyable for us is the Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. We think this is the best Disney World parade. You get to experience the magic of it “snowing” on Main Street U.S.A while waving to your favorite characters, toy soldiers and Santa Clause! Most importantly, the seven dwarfs are in this Christmas parade, who doesn’t love seeing them?!
Many of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party reviews said the guests enjoyed the thrill of viewing Magic Kingdom at night with lots of Christmas lights illuminating the dark sky. There is truly no better view than Main Street decked out in Christmas lights while “snoaping” (soap snow).
Other Disney Christmas Party reviews said guests enjoyed the cookies that came with the price of admission. You receive a bag full and can take them to go, and also get to enjoy hot cocoa as if you’re in a winter wonderland.
If you aren’t into the fireworks, parade, or stage show, we would say Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party is not worth it. If you are looking just for a way to ride Magic Kingdom attractions with low crowds, staying in a deluxe Disney World hotel will grant you access to Extended Evening Hours (included in cost of hotel) which allows you to stay late in select parks for two extra hours after closing.
